Mind boggling questions

For quite some time I have been wondering. There are these shells that have A- Protect against mana drain in PVP. Now "mana drain" as far as I know comes from:
- other shells stating mana drain in pvp: ...
- Blade abilities
- Tidelord Lightning
- Debuffs like Plague (DG), Absolute Zero (Jinn) and Cut (WK/blade)



Now I want to know: does an anti-mana drain shell protect against Debuffs, such as Cut from Wild Keeper??
